Kulgam, Aug 01 (KNO): An encounter between terrorists and security forces is underway in the Akhal forest area of Devsar in South Kashmir's Kulgam district, officials said on Friday. A top police official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the area following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists. He said during the search operation, contact was established with the hiding terrorists. “The exchange of fire is going on and further details will be shared accordingly,” he said. Meanwhile, Police in a post on X, informed that SOG, J&K Police, Army and CRPF are on job. “#Encounter has started at Akhal area of district #Kulgam. SOG, J&K Police, Army and CRPF on job.
